Henri Pierre-Jacques co-founded Harlem Capital in 2015 as an angel syndicate started in a Harlem living room, after earlier work in private equity and investment banking and an education at Duke University and Harvard Business School. He has built the firm around a multi-decade mission - changing the face of entrepreneurship by backing diverse founders - while still operating with the discipline of a focused seed fund, writing roughly $750,000 to $1.5 million checks for meaningful ownership stakes. Harlem Capital grew from a $40 million inaugural fund in 2019 to a $134 million Fund II in 2021.
