GSV Ventures is a venture fund investing exclusively in the digital learning and workforce skills market, backing entrepreneurs across what it calls the Pre-K to Gray arc of learning, from early childhood and K-12 through higher education and lifelong workforce upskilling. The fund was co-founded by Deborah Quazzo, its Managing Partner, and Michael Moe, founder of GSV, who now sits on the advisory board; Adam Freed serves as a second Managing Partner. GSV Fund I raised $97 million in limited partner commitments in 2016, and Fund II closed in March 2021 at $180 million, at which point the firm reported over $400 million in assets under management across the two funds and special purpose vehicles; the manager's Form ADV reports $811.1 million in regulatory assets under management. The portfolio has included Coursera, which went public on the NYSE in 2021, along with Course Hero, ClassDojo, MasterClass, Degreed, Guild Education, Andela, Photomath and Remind. GSV Ventures is distinct from GSV Capital, the former publicly traded fund that was renamed SuRo Capital, and is closely related to the ASU+GSV Summit, the annual education innovation conference that Quazzo co-founded with Arizona State University, which the firm links from its own site.
Portfolio company Coursera completed its initial public offering on the NYSE in March 2021.
