Suranga Chandratillake joined Balderton Capital as a General Partner in 2014. He founded blinkx in 2004, an intelligent search engine for video and audio content, and served as its CEO for eight years, taking the company from Cambridge to San Francisco, to profitability and to a listing on the London Stock Exchange. Before blinkx he was an early employee at Autonomy Corporation, starting as an engineer in Cambridge and becoming US CTO in San Francisco. He holds an MA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2012, and received an OBE in the 2018 New Year's Honours.
