Founder & Chairman at Chiratae Ventures · Joined 2006
View Live Interactive Profile →Sudhir Sethi spent 12 years at Wipro before venture capital pulled him away from routine corporate life, and he founded what became Chiratae Ventures in 2006 with TC Meenakshisundaram, initially as the Indian arm of IDG Ventures. The defining test of his leadership came when IDG dissolved as a global conglomerate mid-way through the firm's second fundraise - rather than fold, Sethi rebuilt the firm entirely around domestic Indian capital, betting that local investors would back Indian entrepreneurs with more conviction than foreign LPs ever could. That bet built one of India's most consequential venture portfolios: early stakes in Flipkart, Myntra, Lenskart, and PolicyBazaar, five portfolio IPOs, and $1.3 billion under management across seven funds. Sethi sits on Chiratae's Global Advisory Board alongside Ratan Tata and continues to serve on India's National Venture Capital Association executive committee.
