Biography

Steve Case co-founded America Online in 1985 and led it as CEO until the 2000 merger with Time Warner, after which he stepped down as CEO and served as chairman of AOL Time Warner until 2003. In 2005 he founded Revolution, a Washington D.C. based investment firm that operates Revolution Growth, Revolution Ventures and the Rise of the Rest Seed Fund alongside its Revolution Places real estate and hospitality arm. Revolution states it has invested in more than 200 companies across over 100 U.S. cities, and Case's congressional witness bio describes Revolution Growth investments including Sweetgreen, Tempus, Cava, DraftKings and Clear. He was appointed to the Smithsonian Institution's Board of Regents in 2011 and elected its chair effective January 2020, and he established the Case Foundation in 1997.
