Biography

Shmuel Chafets is associated with Target Global, the pan-European venture firm, and described himself in a 2019 interview as a general partner of the firm. He began in technology at Giza Ventures in Israel, co-founded GPV in Warsaw, and invested with Yaron Valler at Hasso Plattner Ventures before the two joined Target Global in 2015 and opened its Berlin office the following year. He co-founded LocalLoco, a gaming company focused on South East Asia, and SAM, a smart home cybersecurity company where he said in 2019 that he still served as vice chairman. A 2016 report on the Berlin office named iZettle, Hansoft and DreamLines among his investments, with a board position at DreamLines.
