He completed a BS in Computer Science at Columbia University in 1990 and an MS in Computer Science at MIT in 1993, and while at MIT was trained as a player on the MIT Blackjack Team. He founded Fast Engines in 1997 and sold it to Adero in 2000, co-founded Vert, and in 2014 became managing director of Techstars in Boston. He is also a co-founder of the non-profit Cash for Refugees.
