Biography

Ron Conway co-founded Altos Computer Systems and took it public in 1982 before turning to angel investing in the 1990s, eventually founding Angel Investors LP in 1998 and SV Angel in 2005. Known as the 'Godfather of Silicon Valley,' Conway built one of the most connected early-stage portfolios in technology history, with early stakes in Google, Facebook, Twitter, PayPal, and Airbnb. He retired from active day-to-day investing in 2018, and in 2025 SV Angel - now run alongside his sons Ronny and Topher - announced it would stop raising traditional funds in favor of writing smaller, more personal checks directly.
