Biography

Rebecca Lynn began her career as a chemical engineer, including work in a nuclear research reactor, before moving into product development at Procter & Gamble and then joining NextCard, the first online credit card company, as an early employee, helping scale it from 30 to 1,300 employees through its IPO. She began her venture career at Morgenthaler Ventures in 2007, becoming partner in 2012, before co-founding Canvas Ventures (now Canvas Prime) as a spinout in 2013 - closing her first fund the week Lehman Brothers collapsed. Her early-stage investment in LendingClub became the largest U.S. tech IPO of 2014, and her broader track record includes Doximity, Luminar Technologies, and Casetext, the AI-powered legal research platform Thomson Reuters acquired for $650 million in cash in 2023 after the company gained early access to GPT-4. A five-time Forbes Midas List honoree, Lynn has been recognized as a Senior Deal Maker by the Wall Street Journal and a Top Woman VC by the New York Times.
