Biography

Raymond Tonsing is founder and partner of Caffeinated Capital, which he started in 2008. As one of the first solo GPs he pioneered the single-partner fund model and scaled the firm to billions in assets. He holds a BA from the University of Colorado Boulder and began his career helping build the energy-industry platforms Rigzone and Energy Central before becoming a partner at secondaries firm Akkadian Ventures. His firm's own team page states he backed Affirm and Opendoor from seed through to IPO, alongside companies later acquired by BlackRock, Google, JPMorgan Chase, Meta and Spotify.
