Biography

Philippe Durieux is Managing Partner of VIVES Partners and sits on its investment committee. He holds a master's degree in economics from UCLouvain and a post-graduate diploma in finance from the Saint-Louis faculty in Brussels. Before joining the VIVES platform in 2006 he was a Senior Investment Manager at Dexia Ventures and a credit analyst at WestLB. He led Sopartec, UCLouvain's technology transfer and investment company, from 2006 until early 2024, and in that role helped raise VIVES II in 2011 and the VIVES Inter-University Fund in 2020. When investment activity was separated from Sopartec at the start of 2024 he moved across to run the new management company, VIVES Partners SRL, of which he is a director; Xavier Bastin succeeded him at Sopartec. He serves as a non-executive director on several portfolio boards, chairing some of them and their audit and remuneration committees.
