Peter Orth is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of 4DX Ventures, the pan-African early-stage firm he started with Walter Baddoo in 2017 after several years of investing personal funds in African startups. Before founding the firm he spent more than half a decade at Bridgewater Associates working on Global Macro investing strategies, portfolio construction and Emerging Market economies, and he had earlier been an investment banker at JPMorgan Chase covering consumer, healthcare and retail companies. He was also an investor at a New York family office running long/short equity value and private equity strategies and an operator at a venture-backed blockchain startup in Palo Alto. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and International Relations and is a CFA charter holder.
