Biography

Michelle Gonzalez brought an unusually wide-ranging background to M12 when she was named its Corporate Vice President and Global Head in 2022. After starting her career at McKinsey and spending more than seven years as a senior product leader at Apple, she moved into venture and incubation roles at Comcast Ventures - where she also managed capital deployment for its Catalyst Fund supporting Black and Latinx seed-stage founders - and then IBM Ventures, focused on AI, blockchain, and quantum computing partnerships. Immediately before M12 she ran Google's Area 120 internal incubator as Managing Partner, leading a strategic realignment that produced a record number of projects successfully 'spinning in' to become core Google products. That incubation-and-venture combination now defines how she runs M12: she has proactively aligned the fund closer to Microsoft's senior leadership while preserving autonomous investment decisions, and currently sits on the boards of Go1, SpyCloud, Databook, and TaskUs.
