Michael Denham served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Development Bank of Canada, the federal Crown corporation whose investment arm is BDC Capital, from August 2015 until 2021, and was reappointed to the post by the Government of Canada in 2020. He joined National Bank of Canada in September 2021 as Vice-Chairman, Commercial Banking and Financial Markets, and was named Executive Vice-President and Vice-Chair effective March 1, 2025, with responsibility for leading the integration of CWB. Before BDC he led AquaTerra Corporation and held senior roles at Accenture, CGI Group, Bombardier and McKinsey & Company. He joined the board of Endeavor Canada in September 2025 and studied at Princeton University and the London School of Economics.
