Jim Kim is a founding member and General Partner of Builders VC. He and Paul Lee launched the firm in 2016 and are the two individuals named as Managing Members of the General Partner in the Form D for Builders VC Fund I, L.P. He is named as a related person on the Form D filings for Builders VC Fund II, L.P. and Builders VC Fund III, L.P. His firm bio states that before Builders he founded Formation 8 and remains a Managing Partner there, that he was previously a General Partner at Khosla Ventures and a Senior Partner at CMEA Capital, and that he began his career founding GE's venture capital effort.
