Biography

James Currier is a four-time founder - Tickle, WonderHill, Iron Pearl, and Jiff, all successfully acquired - turned one of Silicon Valley's most cited experts on network effects, having systematically categorized dozens of network-effect types that founders can now deliberately design for rather than stumble into. He co-founded NFX in 2015 with fellow serial entrepreneurs Pete Flint and Gigi Levy-Weiss, the three of whom collectively built ten companies with a combined $10 billion in exits before ever writing an outside investor check together. That operating pedigree shaped NFX's structure: a 45-plus-person platform team, proprietary tools like the Signal fundraising network, and an invite-only 'Guild' community where hundreds of portfolio CEOs share real KPIs and insights. Early NFX bets into Lyft and DoorDash, both public since 2019 and 2020 respectively, remain among the firm's clearest proof points.
