Jake Medwell is a co-founder of 8VC and leads the firm's logistics and transportation practice from Austin, Texas. Before and alongside 8VC he co-founded a series of companies, including Sole Bicycle Co. while in college, the consumer mobile software company Humin, the logistics technology company BATON that Ryder System acquired in 2022, and the supply chain and yard management company Terminal Industries. He also co-founded The Kairos Society, where he sits on the board of directors, and co-founded Operation Masks with his 8VC partner Drew Oetting to supply PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2011 and has lectured there on entrepreneurship and technology.
