Biography

Derek Idemoto is Senior Vice President of Cisco Investments, listed on the Cisco Investments team page, and Cisco's own author bio describes his role as SVP of Corporate Development and Cisco Investments, responsible for optimizing external innovation through acquisitions and investments. Since joining Cisco in 2007 he has spearheaded more than 30 deals totaling over 15 billion dollars, including the acquisitions of Sourcefire, OpenDNS and Leaba Semiconductor, and he facilitated the 2.3 billion dollar acquisition of Duo. He earned an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, where he was a venture fellow, and a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from U.C. Berkeley.
