David Friedberg is CEO and Partner of The Production Board, the San Francisco holding company and venture foundry he founded in 2017 to rebuild the systems of production behind food, agriculture, biomanufacturing, and human health. A UC Berkeley astrophysics graduate, he held senior corporate development and product roles at Google before founding The Climate Corporation, whose digital agronomy platform came to serve over 200 million farm acres worldwide; Monsanto acquired the company for over $1 billion in 2013 and Friedberg joined its executive leadership team. He also founded digital auto insurer Metromile, which listed on Nasdaq in 2021. At TPB he sets strategy, defines investment theses, and manages key investments, sits on the boards of Lavoro and Pattern Ag, and co-hosts the All-In podcast.
