Biography

Brad Svrluga began his career in strategy consulting before co-founding High Peaks Venture Partners in 2003, spending more than a decade investing in and around New York's technology ecosystem. He co-founded Primary Venture Partners with Ben Sun in 2015 as High Peaks' successor, built around a specific conviction that took shape after the 2008 financial crisis: a wave of the city's most talented people were shifting from Wall Street and Madison Avenue into startups, and New York needed a seed fund with the scale and NYC-specific expertise to back them properly. That thesis produced early bets on Jet.com, acquired by Walmart for roughly $3.3 billion, and Mirror, acquired by Lululemon for $500 million, and Svrluga has grown Primary into New York's largest early-stage firm by operator headcount, with roughly 50 full-time staff and more than 20 dedicated platform operators supporting portfolio companies on hiring and go-to-market execution.
