Biography

Barry Silbert is the Founder and CEO of Digital Currency Group, which he launched on 27 October 2015 at Money 20/20 days after selling his previous company SecondMarket to Nasdaq. He founded Grayscale Investments in 2013, launching what his conference biography describes as the first bitcoin investment vehicle, served as Grayscale's CEO for eight years and states that he continues as its Chairman. In November 2024 he founded Yuma, a DCG subsidiary supporting development on the Bittensor network, and serves as its CEO while continuing to lead DCG. He began his career as an investment banker in New York and graduated from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University. DCG publishes no team page, so his title here is taken from DCG's own press releases and his 2026 Milken Institute speaker biography rather than from a firm roster page.
