Biography

Anand Kamannavar built his path to venture capital through hands-on engineering and business development at Hewlett-Packard's server group, where he earned multiple US patents, and co-founding Precision Information Systems, a financial data platform serving Ameritrade, New York Life, and Intuit. After stints at Atlas Ventures and Arch Development Partners, he joined Applied Ventures in 2006, eventually rising to Global Head of Applied Materials' venture capital fund. He has led more than a dozen venture investments with successful exits, including NASDAQ listings for Enphase Energy and Adesto Technologies and Voltaix's acquisition by Air Liquide, and now oversees a more than $400 million portfolio spanning 90-plus companies across 17 countries. Kamannavar has described Applied Ventures as deliberately stage-agnostic and 'very active,' reviewing roughly 700 applications a year and selecting just five or six new investments, with a particular focus on advancing Moore's Law through semiconductor, materials science, and deep tech breakthroughs.
