Matchstick Ventures

Matchstick Ventures is a pre-seed and seed stage technology investor. Its own site states that the firm invests "capital, time and resources in the most ambitious entrepreneurs 'between the coasts' - teaming up at the pre-seed and seed stage", and describes the aim of being the "Most impactful early-stage, technology investor focused between the coasts", with an emphasis on the North and the Rockies and on diverse founders. The about page states a cheque range of $500k to $1.5M at pre-seed and seed. The firm is physically based in Colorado and Minnesota, with the team split between Boulder, CO and Minneapolis, MN, and it says it is founder-first because its partners were founders first. It publicises a network of Matchstick Strikers, subject-matter experts made available to portfolio founders, and it is a member of Pledge 1%.
