Perceptive Advisors is a life sciences investment manager registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD 154703, SEC registration effective 4 October 2010). It says it runs four strategies. The Perceptive Life Sciences Fund invests globally in public and private companies developing biotechnology products, drugs, medical devices and diagnostics, with the majority of investments in publicly traded small and mid cap companies, and participates in growth rounds, crossover rounds, IPOs and public follow-ons. Capital Solutions provides structured capital to later-stage and commercial-stage life sciences companies. The venture strategy, run through the Perceptive Xontogeny Venture Funds, invests primarily at seed and Series A in biotechnology, medtech, healthtech, digital health and healthcare tools and services, states investments of $10M to $50M when leading or co-leading a Series A, states over $700M across its venture funds, and says its people take board seats. The firm describes its team as scientists, technologists, molecular biologists, MDs and PhDs.

Vivo Capital describes itself as a global healthcare specialist running a multi-strategy investment platform that covers venture capital, private equity and public equity.
