Novo Holdings A/S is the holding and investment company of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, responsible for managing the Foundation's assets and wealth. Its stated purpose is to improve people's health and the sustainability of society and the planet by generating long-term returns on the Foundation's assets. Its work splits into two parts. It says it runs four strategies. The Perceptive Life Sciences Fund invests globally in public and private companies developing biotechnology products, drugs, medical devices and diagnostics, with the majority of investments in publicly traded small and mid cap companies, and participates in growth rounds, crossover rounds, IPOs and public follow-ons. Credit Opportunities, launched with its first closed-end fund in 2014, lends to healthcare companies across biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, women's health, life sciences research and healthcare IT, and states a range of $20M to $300M per investment and approximately $3.5B of capital raised for private credit. Capital Solutions provides structured capital to later-stage and commercial-stage life sciences companies. The venture strategy, run through the Perceptive Xontogeny Venture Funds, invests primarily at seed and Series A in biotechnology, medtech, healthtech, digital health and healthcare tools and services, states investments of $10M to $50M when leading or co-leading a Series A, states over $700M across its venture funds, and says its people take board seats.
