Background

Dr Robert Sansom is an angel investor and mentor to technology-based startup businesses in the UK and US, and the founder of Cambridge Angels. Before angel investing he co-founded FORE Systems, a high-speed data communications company, where he was Chief Technical Officer; FORE went public on NASDAQ in 1994 and was sold to Marconi plc in 1999. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2010 and is a Bye-Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. UK Companies House records him as a director of Cambridge technology companies including Featurespace, IQGeo Group, CRFS, Arachnys Information Services, Focal Point Positioning and Cambridge Communication Systems, with Myrtle Software Limited his current active startup directorship. In January 2012 he led the round that funded Cambridge Communication Systems and became its chairman.
