Background

Joshua Schachter founded Delicious (del.icio.us), the social bookmarking service, releasing its first version in 2003; Yahoo! acquired it in 2005 and he remained there until announcing his departure in 2008. He worked at Google from January 2009 to June 2010, then founded and served as CEO of Tasty Labs. Before his startup career he spent roughly a decade on Wall Street, at Montgomery Securities and then as a quant in Morgan Stanley's Equity Trading Lab. He holds a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and was named to MIT Technology Review's top 35 innovators under 35 in 2006. His 2023 conference biography describes him as an early stage investor who has made angel commitments to over 200 companies, and he runs an AngelList syndicate that states it expects roughly five deals per year.
