Background

Jim Warwick, recorded at Companies House as David James Warwick, began a Computer Science degree at the University of Cambridge in 1983 and worked in telecoms consulting before joining Abcam, the Cambridge life-science reagents company. He spent 15 years there, most recently as Chief Operating Officer leading Innovation & Manufacturing, IT, Operations and HR, and stepped down from the board at the end of 2016. He joined Cambridge Angels in early 2018, which he describes as the point he became serious about angel investing, and he says he is pretty sector agnostic while gravitating towards life sciences and more recently climate change and net-zero companies. He invested in Qkine in 2018 and has been a director of the company since 21 March 2018, and he has been an active director of Cambridge Angels Group Ltd since October 2021. He has lived in Cambridge for around 30 years.
