Full-time angel investor; Chair of ViaNautis Bio - Arrowfield Capital
David Ford is an Oxford-based angel investor who invests exclusively in life sciences and healthcare through Arrowfield Capital, which describes itself as an Oxford-based life sciences angel syndicate investing from pre-seed stage and beyond. He read biochemistry at Oxford and began his career in 1997 as a pan-European equity analyst at PRICOA Capital Group covering biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, later becoming Managing Director and Head of Credit Research at Intermediate Capital Group plc, where he oversaw European and Asian investments of more than EUR 10bn. He left full-time executive employment in 2017 to invest and take non-executive roles, joining Cambridge Angels in 2018, and Companies House records him as the sole director of ARROWFIELD CAPITAL NOMINEES LTD from April 2019. Cambridge Angels reported in March 2024 that he had made around 25 investments and served on the boards of several companies, and he chairs ViaNautis Bio, whose 2019 round he led and which raised USD 25m in 2023. He also serves as a non-executive director of a listed venture capital trust and of Alcentra.
